pyro shading test

leave a comment »

this is another test with shading fluids. Density is emitted from a moving emitter and 3 different built in volume material are put on the smoke.

Houdini pyro – fire and smoke shader test

my first test with pyro. Only density is emitted and some of the vex pyro solver parameters are animated.

road collapse simulation

leave a comment »

the road was procedurally modeled from a grid. The polygonal shape can be achieved with a divide node`s Compute Dual parameter. The delayed collapse is done by applying a mask field from a traveling sop cube on the gravity node.
A simple smoke simulation is added below the falling bricks.

Glass of water blast

leave a comment »

my first more complex simulation.
glass was manually shattered because I can`t get the to work the shatter node.
Probably it has some expectations about incoming geometry, and can`t handle
complex concave stuff .
The fluid is a simple particle fluid simulation.

Just for fun

I did this with mixing a bunch of particles advected in a lowRes fluid smoke simulation. The rest is done with simple sop nodes; adding random point color, trail sop, creep circle along trail, skin circles. The colors are changed in post in nuke.

CHOP test

leave a comment »

basic workflow:

– scattered points inside a sphere
– deformed the points with a magnet force going trough the sphere
– imported geometry to a CHOP network
– manipulated animation curves: noise, leg, etc…
– exported manipulated curves back to the points
– added particlefluidsurface to give fluid look

welcome!
I started this blog to log my self-development in mastering sidefx Houdini to myself.
